"Progress on 3d  N=2 dualities " I review recent progress in the study of IR dualities in three dimensional supersymmetric field theories with four supercharges. I focus on cases without (Aharony duality) and with (Giveon-Kutasov duality) Chern-Simons action and show how to flow from one to the other case. The validity of these flows is corroborated by the localized partition function on the squashed three sphere. It was observed that these dualities share some similarities with the four dimensional Seiberg duality: they can be obtained from dimensional reduction, by considering a non trivial limit, involving the holomorphic and the KK scales. In the second part of the talk I will explain how this compactification can be analyzed from a brane perspective. By T-duality on the four dimensional Hanany-Witten setup the field theoretical results are reproduced. As a byproduct some progress in the brane engineering of the Aharony duality is discussed.
