Title: New challenges for large field inflation in string cosmology

Abstract: The simplest version of Fibre inflation model, proposed in the framework of LARGE volume scenarios, can be considered to be one of the most attractive inflationary models developed in the string theoretic framework for three reasons; (i) moduli stabilization is fairly established (ii) one has a good control over the (un-)known sub-leading corrections to trust the EFT description, and (iii) it is a model of large field inflation. In the first part of the talk, I will present some explicit Calabi Yau orientifold constructions which could be minimally sufficient for the (chiral) global embedding of Fibre inflationary potential. The main idea is to find suitable K3-fibred Calabi Yau threefolds with appropriate orientifold involutions, such that the desired form of the string-loop corrections to the Kaehler potential as well as the non-perturbative corrections to the superpotential are ensured to be generated. In the second part of the talk I will discuss some new challenges on the inflaton field range arising from the Kaehler cone conditions which have been overlooked in the previous simplistic realization of the model.
