Theoretical Physics (CSN4)

The National Scientific Commission 4 (CSN4) of the Italian National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN) is responsible for coordinating and supporting research in the field of theoretical physics. Its main goal is to develop models and interpretations capable of guiding, supporting, and complementing the experimental investigations promoted by the INFN. CSN4’s activities range from particle physics to theoretical cosmology, including nuclear physics, field theory, theoretical biophysics, and the exploration of new technologies. Particular attention is also devoted to the development of new ideas and theories that go beyond the Standard Model. The commission encourages close collaboration between theorists and experimentalists, recognising the importance of integrating these two approaches.
