EIC is a future particle accelerator that will be realized at the Brookheven Lab (USA), in which an electron beam will be made to collide with protons and ions to study the internal structure made up of quarks and gluons bound together by the strong interaction .
In this sense, the EIC will act as a real subatomic microscope that will allow us to investigate this force and the role of gluons in the nature of matter.
